How to delete all rows below in Google Sheets

Delete all rows below in Google Sheets means removing all rows that are located below a certain row or range of rows. This action permanently deletes the selected rows and their content. In large datasets, it becomes difficult to delete each row one by one so deleting them once helps in saving and working efficiently.

In this tutorial, we will learn how to delete all rows below in google sheets. In our data set above, the order of a customer along with the price of every item is shown but later the customer wants to cancel his order. Now it’s time-consuming to delete the order one by one so deleting them all in one can be done by using the Delete Rows option. The following steps will guide you to use this option.

Method 1: Delete a row using the delete rows option

Step 1 – Select the Column Heading of the First Column

  • Right-click on the Row Heading of the first row and the whole row will be selected

Step 2 – Select all the Rows 

  • After selecting the first-row press the “Ctrl+Shift+Down Arrow key
  • All rows below the selected row will be selected

Step 3 – Click on the Delete Rows option

  • After selecting the rows right click anywhere in the selected region and the context menu will appear.
  • From this new menu click on Delete Rows option 2-5 (Here 2-3 is shown as 2-5 rows are selected) to get the required result

Method 2: Delete rows using the Edit Tab

Step 1 – Select the range of cell

  • Select the range of cells you want to delete 
  • To select the rows Right-click on the Row Heading of the first row and the whole row will be selected
  • After selecting the first-row press the “Ctrl+Shift+Down Arrow key” to select the remaining rows

Step 2 – Click on the Edit tab

  • After selecting the range of cells, click on the Edit tab in the taskbar and a dropdown menu will appear

Step 3 – Click on the delete option

  • In the dropdown menu, click on the arrow next to the delete option and a dropdown menu will appear

Step 4 – Click on the range selected

  • In the dropdown menu, click on the range of rows selected to get the required result
  • Here we selected Rows 2-5 as we have selected the second to the fifth row
