How to create a hyperlink to a folder
Creating a hyperlink to a folder in Excel means creating a clickable link that opens a specific folder on your computer’s file system when clicked. In this tutorial, we will learn how to create a hyperlink to a folder. The following dataset represents the tasks, their names, and their hyperlinks. The column of hyperlinks is empty, let’s add hyperlinks to that column by following the given steps.
Method 1 – Create a hyperlink using the context menu
Step 1 – Select the cell
- Select the cell where you want to add the hyperlink, in our case, it will be B2.
Step 2 – Right-click the cell
- Right-click the cell where you want to add the hyperlink, and the context menu will open.
Step 3 – Click on the link option
- From that context menu click on the link option.
- A dialogue box will appear.
Step 4 – Select the folder
- From the “insert hyperlink” dialogue box select the folder whose hyperlink you want to add in the column.
- Click on OK or press enter to confirm adding a hyperlink.
Method 2 – Create a hyperlink using the keyboard shortcut
Step 1 – Select the cell
- Select the cell where you want to add a hyperlink.
Step 2 – Press CTRL + K
- Press CTRL + K, an “insert hyperlink” dialogue box will appear.
Step 3 – Select the folder
- From the “insert hyperlink” dialogue box, select the folder whose hyperlink you want to add to the column.
- Click on OK or press enter to confirm adding a hyperlink.
