There are times when you accidentally merged a cell and you want to undo it. Splitting the cells will be the next option.
Step 1 – Highlight the cells you want to split

Step 2 – Under the Home tab, click on Merge and Center button
If Excel sees that the cells are merged, it will automatically split the cells up.
