How to shift cells up in Excel

Selecting cells is one of the most basic tasks in Excel. It is always good to know how to do it with the use of shortcuts.

Step 1 – Choose a cell you want to select

First choose a cell you want to select. In this example, cell F15 is used.

Step 2 – Press SHIFT + UP ARROW KEY to shift cells up

Then on your keyboard press SHIFT + UP ARROW key simultaneously to shift the cell up. If you want to select another cell up, press on the UP ARROW key again while holding the CTRL button.
