How to share an Excel file as a link
Sharing an Excel file as a link involves distributing or granting access to the file by providing a web link or URL instead of sending it as an attachment via email or other messaging platforms
In this tutorial, we will learn how to share an Excel file as a link. For this, a user can opt for the “Share” button present in the upper-right corner of the ribbon. We can also share an Excel file as a link utilizing the File tab.
Method 1: Sharing Excel File in Google Drive Utilizing Share Icon
Step 1 – Perform Click on the Share Icon
- Perform click on the share icon in the upper-right corner of the Excel sheet.
Step 2 – Enter the Email Address
- Enter the email address of the person with whom you want to share the file.
Step 3 – Choose the Level of Access
- Choose the level of access you want to grant to each person from the drop-down menu next to their email address (i.e., can view, can comment, or can edit).
Step 4 – Hit “Send” to Share Excel File
- Click on the send button to share the Excel file.
Method 2: Sharing Excel file in Google Drive Using the Share Button
Step 1 – Locate the Excel File in the File Tab
- Locate the Excel file i.e. the name of the file in the “File” tab.
Step 2 – Perform a Right-Click on the File and Choose the Share Option
- Perform a right-click on the file name and choose the share button from the context menu.
Step 3 – Input the Email Address
- Input the email address of the person with whom you want to share the file.
Step 4 – Choose the Level of Access
- Choose the level of access you want to grant to each person from the drop-down menu next to their email address (i.e., can view, can comment, or can edit).
Step 5 – Hit “Send” to Share Excel File
- Hit the send button to share the Excel file.
Method 3: Sharing Excel File From the File Menu Page
Step 1 – Locate the File Tab
- Locate the file tab in the leftmost corner of Microsoft Excel.
Step 2 – Perform a Click on the Share Button
- Perform click on the share button from the menu at the left of the file tab.
Step 3 – Input the Email Address
- Input the email address of the person with whom you want to share the file.
Step 4 – Choose the Level of Access
