How to flip columns in excel
If you have a list of names and you want to sort them not alphabetically but starting from the last one to the first one, what can you do? There is not a built-in function in Excel to do that but the result can be easily achieved through a combination of two different functions. To flip columns in Excel proceed as follows.
Step 1 – Select where to place the flipped column
– Select the first cell of the flipped column;
Step 2 – Write the function
– Write “=” to start the function;
– Write “INDEX” and select the function from the list;
– As first argument of the function, select the column range you want to flip;
– Block the selected range by pressing F4;
– As second argument of the function, write “ROWS” and select the function from the list;
– As “ROWS” function argument select again the the column range you want to flip;
– Block only the end of the range;
– Drag the formula till the end of the flipped column.
