How to fix a corrupt Excel file

Excel files may get corrupted due to viruses or because of the application suddenly closing. If one of your Excel files is corrupt, you will get a warning message when trying to open the file. There are some tools you can use to try and fix the corrupted file, but there is no guarantee that the file can be saved. It is a good practice to always create backups of your files so that you can recover the last saved version in case the file cannot be fixed.
Step 1 – Repair the workbook
– Go to File > Open
– Select the corrupt file
– Expand the menu beside the Open button
– Select Open and Repair
– If Excel can repair the file, the file will open
