How to divide two cells in Excel

Let’s assume you want to calculate how many shelters do you have to insert in your warehouse to contain all your products. You have two columns, one with the number of products and one with the max number of products that each shelter can contain. By dividing the two cells you’ll obtain the number of needed shelters. To divide 2 cells in Excel proceed as follows.
Step 1 – Select the cell where to insert the division
– Select the cell by clicking on it or with the keyboard arrows. A good choice can be to select the cell near the two you want to divide, in order to have the result as close as possible.
Step 2 – Divide the two cells
– Inside the selected cell write “=” to let the tool understand you want to insert a function;
– Select the first cell you want to divide adding it to the function;
– Write “/” as division operator;
– Select the second cell you want the first be divided by;
– Press enter to confirm the function.
