How to capitalize first letter in excel

Capitalization is very straightforward in Excel. Since we want to capitalize only the first letter, we will use the PROPER command.
Step 1 – Click on an empty cell

Click on an empty cell
Step 2 – Type in PROPER followed by the selected cell you want to capitalize

The PROPER command will automatically capitalize the first letter and turn the rest into lowercase.
Step 3 – Press Enter

Pressing Enter will return the output of the formula.
