How to add a sort button in Excel

Many times you will need to sort and/or filter data to understand it better or to create subsets of data.  Excel provides in-column buttons for sorting and filtering. 

Step 1 – Enable the in-column buttons

– Go to Data > Sort & Filter
– Click the Filter button

Step 2 – Use any of the sort options

– Click on the arrow on the in-column filter to expand the menu
– Choose any of the options for sorting
