How to change row height in google sheets
What if you have a cell with lots of data and not all of them are visible? For example there are different lines in the same cell and you want to change the row size to make them visible. To change the row height you have two main options:
- Option 1. To change the row height manually;
- Option 2. To change the row height with the “resize row” feature.
Option 1 – To change the row height manually
Step 1 – Select the row you want to resize
- Click on the row number to select the row you want to resize.
Step 2 – Resize the row
- Move the pointer to the row border until an arrow appear;
- Move the arrow up or down to increase or decrease the row height. Note that by double clicking on the border the row will resize to make all the data visible.
Option 2 – To change the row height with “resize row”
Step 1 – Select the row you want to resize
- Click on the row number to select the row you want to resize.
Step 2 – Resize the row
- Right click on the selected row;
- Select “resize row”;
- Specify the row height in pixels or to fit the row height to the data.
Step 2 – Press “alt” + “enter key” to create a new line
- Move the cursor in the function bar where you want to move the data on a new line;
- Erase, if needed, commas or spaces;
- Press “alt” + “enter key” to move the data on the next line.
